WinnersDepot.com was launched
October 31, 2003 as
beRecruited.com's sister-site. Started by the same people
who operate beRecruited.com, WinnersDepot was developed to provide
high school athletes with articles, advice, and interviews about the
college recruiting process. The goal is to prepare high school
athletes for college recruiting and to consequently improve their
chances of being recruiting and earning an athletic scholarship.
beRecruited.com was founded in 2000 by Ryan Spoon - a collegiate
swimmer for Duke University in Durham, NC - to make the recruiting
process more efficient and more effective for high school athletes
and NCAA coaches. First created exclusively for NCAA swimming and
diving, beRecruited.com soon gained tremendous support and garnered
numerous accolades. Because the service had been so successful, it
was a natural transition to expand beRecruited.com into fourteen
other NCAA "non-revenue" sports; by 2002, our Lacrosse section was
launched and, in the summer of 2003, beRecruited.com opened itself
to athletes and coaches from sixteen different sports.
beRecruited.com is a subsidiary of
beRecruited.com LLC. In addition to operating beRecruited.com, the
company also specializes in graphic-design, web-design, and

Spoon
A graduate of Duke University, Ryan holds multiple university swim
team records. He placed 16th overall in the 2002 summer nationals
(Clovis, California) in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.01). At Duke
University, Ryan specialized in English, economics, and marketing,
graduating cum laude. He founded beRecruited.com in 2000 with a
single goal: make the recruiting process for all non-revenue sports
more efficient for athletes and coaches.
Russell
Cook
A triple-major at Duke University, Russell's studies include
computer science, engineering and economics. Russell brings strong
experience in internet design, marketing and entrepreneurship -
owning and operating an online software company.
